On June 30, 2025, New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG) and Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) filed amendments to their electric and natural gas delivery rates and practices. NYSEG and RG&E (collectively, the Companies) serve customers in 46 counties in upstate and western New York. On September 30, October 7, 8, and 16, 2025 the New York State Public Service Commission (Commission) will hold a series of in-person public statement hearings as well as two virtual public statement hearings on October 21, 2025, to seek input and comments from your community regarding the proposed amendments.
NYSEG proposes to increase its electric delivery revenue by approximately $464.4 million (a 35.0 percent increase in base delivery revenues), and its natural gas delivery revenue by approximately $93 million (a 39.4 percent increase in base delivery revenues). RG&E proposes to increase its electric delivery revenue by approximately $220.2 million (36.0 percent increase in base delivery revenues), and its natural gas delivery revenues by approximately $72.9 million (a 32.0 percent increase in base delivery revenues). The filing states the proposed increase is due to new infrastructure investment and high growing energy demand. The Companies also propose to maintain their energy affordability programs to mitigate the impact on low-income customers’ bills while ensuring the continuation of safe, reliable, and resilient electric and natural gas systems.
In their filings, the Companies propose to close walk-in offices listed on the Notice of Hearing.
