Good morning —
I hope that this finds you safe and well following a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Our Department is proud to announce that tonight, at 7 p.m., a wonderful new program begins across our state: Healing Haven for Military Spouses.
This is a first-of-its-kind peer-to-peer initiative created specifically for the spouses of Service Members and Veterans. This groundbreaking endeavor recognizes that Military Spouses shoulder unique emotional and psychological stressors, yet often lack a dedicated space to gather in community.
Healing Haven creates that space — a safe, supportive environment where Military Spouses can come together, share openly, and take part in guided sessions focused on stress relief, positive mental health, and meaningful self-care. Brett Cotter, renowned nationally as a leader and innovator in this field, will facilitate these sessions. Our tremendous thanks goes to Cindy Meili, two-time National Guard Spouse of the Year, whose guidance and expertise was vital in developing the content of this program.
Participation is entirely free for all Military Spouses who would like to join tonight’s session or any future session. The cadence going forward will be:
✅ 1st Monday of every month at 7 p.m. – Stress Relief for Military Spouses (60-minutes)✅ 3rd Monday of every month at 7 p.m. – Self-Care Tools for Military Families (60-minutes)? Quarterly in-person gatherings to follow

We know that schedules can be challenging, so no one is “required” to attend every session. Take part as your schedules allow! Each session will be unique, and each session will be extraordinarily valuable in the wellness, healing, joy, and camaraderie that it will bring.
Please feel free to share this with any of your friends, family members, colleagues, clients, etc. who might benefit from this new and vital resource as well!
If you have any questions, please let me know and I will gladly answer them.
Thank you for all that you do in advocacy for Veterans, Service Members, and Military Families every day!
Respectfully,
Benjamin P. Pomerance
